The full in-house tooling capabilities of MGG-Tegelen is recognised as one of the world’s leading in their market. MGG has always believed in using this strategic advantage for optimising the support of MGG´s main processing operations, cycle time reduction for new product development, and finally continue to invest in its competence so MGG can truly offer their customers an integrated approach in aluminium casting.
Recently MGG-Tegelen installed a state-of-the-art CNC milling machine from DMG (Deckel Maho Gildemeister), type DMF360 linear.
Some of the impressive capabilities of the machine are: - Three axes machining with NC Swivel milling head; - compatibility of the DMF 360 linear measures 3,600 x 900 x 820 mm (x/y/z); - Max. Revs: 18.000 min. / Max. traverse speed X-axis: 100 mtr./min.; - Tool magazine with room for 30 tools and HSK 63 assimilation; - Automatic tool-failure-check; - Internal Climate control with one Celsius accuracy.
Especially the climate control is unique in its kind. As many of the patterns used by MGG are produced from synthetic materials, the tolerances are very dependent on temperature due to the high amount of thermal expansion of these materials. The Climate control eliminates the influence of temperature thus improving the quality of the tools and patterns. This CNC milling machine is one of the first ever equipped with this feature by DMG and is the result of close technical cooperation between DMG and MGG.
